    Eligibility: This course is open to professionals in social care, education, and health.

    This one-day City and Guilds-accredited training programme provides essential suicide prevention skills for those working with young people and care leavers. It offers a strong foundation in recognising the signs of suicidal thoughts and behaviours and equips learners with the confidence to intervene effectively and compassionately.

    Designed for professionals in social care, education, and health—such as personal assistants, social workers, family support workers, and educators—this course focuses on initiating potentially life-saving conversations and connecting individuals to the right support. Through a blend of theory, practical guidance, and real-world application, participants will develop the tools needed to respond appropriately in high-stakes situations.

    Whether you're supporting a young person in crisis or looking to strengthen your preventative practice, this programme empowers you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those at risk.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Key factors contributing to suicidal thoughts in young people and care leavers.

    Charges

    The charge for the course is £115.00, however you may be entitled to a reduced rate, or fully funded place depending on what organisation you work for. For colleagues in social care, this course is fully funded.  All other professionals will be charged.
